Strong names can be fun even for a small, gentle dog. Choose a name you enjoy using at home as much as out on an adventure.
Try saying your favorite names out loud. Choose one that's easy for everyone in your home to use, and build a positive association by pairing it with praise and rewards.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the best dog name?
Pick a name you enjoy saying, that is easy to pronounce, and that your household can use consistently. Try it out loud before deciding.
Should a dog name have one or two syllables?
Both can work well. Short, clear names are often convenient, but consistency and a positive association matter more than a strict syllable count.
Can I rename an adopted dog?
Yes. Use the new name with rewards and positive experiences. Be patient while your dog learns to respond to it.
